Promoting farmer entrepreneurship
Most of the civil society organisations supporting farmers in Kenya have traditionally been associated with service delivery. However, a realisation has come that a number of issues affecting farmers are of a policy nature and need the direct intervention of government or policy and practice change. In addition, policy issues affecting farmer entrepreneurship are being formulated and debated at national and local levels, which call for the active involvement of Agri-ProFocus partners, as key partners are working with smallholder farmers.
The Agri-ProFocus network intends to become a strong advocacy platform that will contribute to creating a conducive national policy environment that favours farmer entrepreneurship in Kenya.
Collaborating organisations
Coordination of this group is in the hands of KENFAP in close consultation with other Agri-ProFocus Kenya members, including SNV.
